<p>Bancroft and District offers fishing, boating, golfing, hiking ATVing, snowmobiling and cross-country skiing. This area is home to many artists and artisans; offers live theatre and rare shopping opportunities to delight and entertain. There are scenic drives, mineral collecting sites and field trips and many community events.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><img src="http://www.hhchamber.on.ca/directory/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/barry_devolin.jpg" alt="Barry Devolin, Member of Parliament" title="Barry Devolin, Member of Parliament" width="200" height="300" class="alignright size-full wp-image-1438" />Barry Devolin was elected as the <em>Member of Parliament</em> for the federal riding of <strong>Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock</strong> in June 2004 and re-elected in January 2006 and October 2008.</p>
<p>After being elected to Parliament Devolin created a non-partisan <em>Farm Council</em> in his riding to advise and inform him on agricultural issues. He also launched &#8220;<em>The Capital Experience</em>&#8220;, a program that takes one or two students from each of the area’s seven high schools to Ottawa for three days to learn about career opportunities in public life.</p>
<p>Following his reelection in the 2008 election, he was named assistant deputy chairman of the Committees of the Whole, which makes him one of three presiding officers who may take over for the Speaker in the event of his absence.</p>

Services include: Emergency Response System, Transportation, Meals on Wheels, Home at Last, Diners Club, Telephone Security Checks, Home Help and Home Maintenance, Social Recreation and Friendly visiting. </p>
<p>Community Care Haliburton County has celebrated giving service for the past 30 years, beginning in 1980. We have over 120 volunteers who maintain the strength of our agency on a daily basis. </p>
