Wilderness Medical Associates Canada

Wilderness Medical Associates Canada is an educational organization that provides training and research for medical rescue in remote and unconventional settings. Training is provided for anyone needing medical skills for areas where environments may be extreme; resources limited and evacuation time to a hospital may be hours, days, or weeks away. Research is based primarily around expedition and disaster setting and medical care in remote isolated communities. Courses and workshops are available for personal and professional use for individuals and groups from non-medical backgrounds as well as for medical professionals including physicians, nurses, paramedics, and other allied healthcare workers. A Wilderness Medicine Elective is also offered every summer for medical students from across Canada.
